WD-40 Company
WD-40's story began in 1953 with the establishment of the Rocket Chemical Company. Its founder, Norm Larsen, created his flagship product at the end of the 40th attempt, hence the name - Water Displacement, 40th formula - shortened to WD-40. Together with his two partners, they set out to create a range of solvents and rust preventative degreasers for the aerospace industry.
Since that day, the history of the company and its product have been inseparable. So much so that the company changed its name in 1969 to the WD-40 Company.
The company's unique product became a commercial success with both professionals and private individuals. Over the years, a fan club was even created and the product became known as the solution for more than 2000 uses.
Today, the WD-40 Company provides a wide range of products derived from WD-40 to perform specialised maintenance.
